The Self Publication Book Series

The Self Publication is a photographic book series I created to combat harsh stereotypes aligned with women and men in the black community. The series was also created the analyze media representation and the influences they have on the community.

There have been two publications completed both 74-pages long and full of images of the participants bathed in natural light. 

This project consists of social media videos and other print deliverables. I am the photographer and editor behind this series. The project will lead to a documentary based on historical trauma and the current mental state of people of color.

The exhibition for the publication, which was held at the South Dallas Cultural Center, was featured in the Dallas Morning News and D Magazine. The series will also be followed by a short documentary series in honor of the participants.
